Brussels
The Kingdom of Belgium which is unofficially called as Belgium is a very significant Federal Monarchy situated in Western Europe. The city of Brussels is the capital of this dynamic country which is the founding member of the European Union. Brussels is like a mirror of the entire country having a mixed cultural heritage. It is a metropolis of international standards and thus is a virtue for Belgium’s pride. Brussels is also one of the favorite tourist attractions, being readily accessible via airlines and train of high speed from all neighboring countries. The Grand Place of Brussels is an awesome site to visit having UNESCO’s recognition as a World heritage Site. The statue of Mannekln Pls is a fabulous instance of Belgium’s shrewd sense of humour. The best thing about Brussels is that being a melting pot of all different cultures in Europe, English is fairly spoken and understood in this capital city. History
Belgium has a rich historical background ornamented with several wars of invasion starting from the catholic wars to the wars of French revolution. Several provinces have invaded this country resulting in the harnessing of mixed cultures and enhanced intellectual levels of the Belgium natives. The renowned Catholic party and Liberal Party of Belgium originated in the 19th century. Later on this country was again invaded by Germany resulting in removal of the previous powers. With growing advancements in the political grounds, Belgium also became the founder member of the European Coal and Steel Community in the middle of the 20th century.
Politics and Government
The political constitution of Belgium is federal in nature. It is a constitutional monarchy where the parliament is made up of Chamber Representatives and a Senate. The 150 Senate Representatives are elected with public voting system. Here the head of the State is the king who appoints the Prime Minister who works with the Chamber representatives to run the government, the King having limited activities. The political climate of Belgium was pillared by 3 main parties in the late 20th century namely the Liberals, the Social democrats and the Christian Democrats. Currently, the Flemish Christian Democrat rules the State.
Language and communities
As discussed before, Belgium is a mixed bag of several European cultures. Thus there are several communities inhabiting the state, 3 being major of them. These three communities are the French Community who speaks only French language, the Flemish Community who are Dutch speaking by language and the German Community who speak only German language.

Demographics and Geography
The population density of Belgium is around 368 per square km in approximation. The different regions and communities have a different population ratio with Flanders being the area of most dense population in the country. There are people from other neighboring countries as well who stay here for special reasons.
Geographically this country has beautiful landscapes comprising of coastal plains in the north western regions and plateaus taking the central positions. These belong to the Anglo-Belgian Basin. The climate is very soothing being maritime in nature.
Economy
This country has a very strong economy equipped with globalization activities. It is a very well performing trading state that has been considered as the 5th largest one in 2007. It is economically prosperous having capital nourishments from ita enormous number of industries.
Places to travel
Apart from the city of Brussels, the other fabulous places to visit in Belgium are Liege, Spa, Namur, Bastogne, Bruges and Ghent which have extraordinary architectural exhibits and deep historical value.
