St Lucia | St. Lucia Flag
One of the Windward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean, St Lucia was
the bone of contention between England and France throughout the 17th
and early 18th centuries. After changing possessions between these
two countries for not less than 14 times, the island finally became
part of the UK in 1814. The island attained Self-government in 1967
and independence in 1979.
