Capital of Cyprus
Nicosia the capital of Cyprus is the only city in Europe which is divided by the Green Line. Which means the south zone is controlled by the government of south Cyprus and the north zone is controlled by the government of North Cyprus. This is the buffer zone as decided by the United Nations. We can also say this is the only city in the whole world which is divided by the two countries. It also the largest island of Cyprus and the largest business center of Cyprus. The language in use in Nicosia is Greek and basically it is dominated by the Turkish citizens.
Time for Visit
The summers in Nicosia have high coastal temperature and winters are mild. Nicosia town experiences a lower than average rainfall which falls mainly in winter. In the summer it is very rare as Nicosia is situated in the outback of the island. Hence, the best time for visiting Nicosia is in the Spring.

There are various transport options in Nicosia. You can use Buses, Taxis, and Private Cars for local travelling and Airplane for travelling intercity or around the world. If you carry more luggage there is a service of direct transport in Nicosia, by which you can send your luggage directly to another destination with low cost.

The performing art of Nicosia is very popular in Europe. The Government of Nicosia also encourages the same very much. The Government sponsors the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra who performs various orchestra for the people of different ages in Cyprus. Tourist Attractions:
The Cyprus archeological museum is the biggest museum in the country situated in Nicosia. It basically consists of different antiques of Cyprus which are highly valued in the world.
The Ethnographic Museum of Cyprus is also located at Nicosia. It consists of different types of Ethnographic Articles manufactured in Cyprus, such as garments, pottery, metal work, wood work etc.
The wall paints inside the St. John’s Cathedral are really beautiful and meaningful. It contains various examples from the Bible and tells you about the establishment facts of the church.

Tamassos is located about 20 km away from Nicosia renowned for copper woks here.
While going for visit in North Cyprus you have to go through the Kyrenia Gate. You may view the total city from above the gate, and then plan to visit the tourist attractions accordingly. There is a beautiful view of the city if you can go to the upper stairs of the gate.
If you want to see the example of Gothic Architecture, then you should have visit the Selimiye Mosque. Actually it was started as St. Sophia Cathedral and now converted into a Mosque.
